Sleepless in Japan, Poppy H put the extra waking hours to the best use he could think of by making an album of new field recordings and compositions, from start to finish, in just one week on Tokyo time. Calm and melancholy cloak the lonely late night and early morning pieces, at odds with the hustle and bustle of the city streets, hotel dining rooms and restaurants that vie for attention among the daylight arrangements. This curious love letter to Japan considers loneliness, acceptance and the gently powerful nature of the country.
