NOTHING IS PERFECT, EVERYTHING IS PERFECT, the first release from Poppy H, is a mood-swinging meditation on near-death, actual death and death dreams. Realised through improvised sessions in which several instruments and sounds were often played, manipulated and recorded simultaneously by the solo artist, this is a dizzying DIY debut, crossing genres and announcing the arrival of an impulsive, emotive producer thriving on the lowest of lo-fi set ups.

'My earliest memory is a dream, actually.
I must’ve been three or four.
My mum’s driving really slowly, I’m in the passenger seat, and she never really drove, even though she could.
Then I hear, but don’t see, a crash.
I’m fine but she’s no longer beside me.
The crash has propelled her through the windscreen, but somehow it is still completely intact. Not a scratch on it.
I can’t see mum anywhere, then I notice two lion statues either side of a door next to the road, next to the accident.
And they, they are mum, these two lion statues.
I’ve dreamt it since, throughout my life.
That’s what this is all about really.'
